The V Squat is an excellent way for users to get into squatting. Many users will use the gym for a number of years and be comfortable with the resistance machines and seated squat. But it can be daunting moving onto a free weights squat at first. A Power cage/Smith will offer some comfort over a squat rack but the V squat is great choice too. The V squat allows the user to perform the exercise on a pivot rather than full free weights. This can be more comfortable and safer for a relatively inexperienced gym user.
